Love Ac[u]tually wallpaper :D
Monday, December 26, 2005

Due to an unfortunate oversight (stupid manual iso setting...), most of the pics I took with my camera came out grainy. So instead of posting up nice individual pics, I did the next best thing - I scrapped together a wallpaper collage :D

Hope you like it! My apologies in advance to those who don't appear in it - you just have to come for next year's camp :D

its been a while since i posted.

camp is offically over. but i just help but to stop and think about all the amazing things the lord has done for us, in us, with us at this camp.

do you remember:
the alter call? when everyone just broke down.

do you remember:
the awesome awesome Awesome worship?

do you remember:
pong's special dance?

do you remember:
your group bonding?

do you remember:
gala night? having your parents standing there, stunned. wondering "what just went through my kid?!" (: *smile smile*

do you remember:
the little song dedications sent out.

do you remember:
people just praying for other people. people just asking how the other person was feeling?

do you remember:
our wednesday huddle?

do you remember:
the bed mites eating into your skin? hehe.

yes i do. im just really really really touch by how God has used us to work for his camp. to bring people closer to him. to expand his kingdom. he has really blessed us hasnt he? i pray that we'll share that blessing that he has given to us unto others.

it really touches me to see people seeking God. it really touches me to see the 'one community' that we are. it really touches me to see that each and everyone of us were having fun.

before the camp comm headed out for camp. we said we'll go in faith. and God would take over all. yes, and he did as he promised. now, we're all back home, in clean shirts, all nice smelling and with no mites biting... i pray that we'll never forget what we've learnt at camp-our two way relationship with God and with those around us.

at gala night, i just felt a proclaimation for our father in heaven... i felt that we were a testimony to our parents and family... i felt overwhelmed by how God gave us this time of bonding and how he has carried it through... and will always will.

i just wanna say, as a child of God, lets all be proud of Our Heavenly Father. lets all go out in Faith and proclaim his name. as a child of God, we'll be persecuted, but this i want to tell you all, you've the one who sat beside you at sermons, during lunch or had fun with... that would always be by your side. we're never alone, because we're the One Community. at the very end of the day, the lord will see... he'll bless and protect. he'll honour what we've done for him because he had first loved us.

i also wanna thank the facililators, camp comm, PEW, MEL, CHERYL, PONG and those who came for this camp. thank you guys for showing me what Love vertically with God and horizontally with Human really really means.

the lord sees us, and is proud of us. just as Pew is... right, pew?? (:

.:: i heart you ::.
i thank god for pastor gary who prayed for us all.

love actually - theOC's first [ever] camp
Friday, December 16, 2005

Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and recieve from him anything we ask, because we obey his commands and do what pleases him. And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us. [For] those who obey his commands live in him, and he in them. (1 John 3:21-24 with 4:12)

camp is just round the corner and chances are, i'll be right in saying: that if you're in the camp comm, you're starting to worry coz it's SO near - praying so much that God will be gracious and that all your preparation will pay off. and well, if aren't part of the camp comm, that you haven't even started packing yet!

well, at this current point in time, due to the uncertainty of my results and flight bookings, i am still unable to say if i can even make it back for the camp. however, that hasn't really stopped me from getting excited about what is going to happen...

you see, if you're gonna be at camp, has it occured to you that you're gonna be part of theOC's FIRST camp? huh??? do you even have the tiniest idea what that means?! DO YOU??!?! Huhhhh?! (here's your chance to pretend to be smart and say "yes" even if you don't, coz i won't be able to hear you anyway =b)

honestly, the thought of a FIRST camp is just getting me pumped - or might i say, high (weird things do happen to me past 2am -.-) but yeah, that's especially coz i myself can't tell you the significance of love actually being theOC's FIRST EVER CAMP!!!!!! *woooooo!* (okay, i've seriously lost it now).

BUT YEAH . . . hmmm....

earlier this evening i was just actually thinking about the camp's theme, which started me wondering again... what is LOVE actually? i'm not sure if anyone else has thought about this before, but i find it a really interesting concept, esp since we're pressed with so many influences on this. from the highly dramatic hollywood versions of "love" to what you hear about it at church, from BGRs you see around to the number of divorced couples there are in our society - "love" is portrayed so differently in each circumstance, but yet they are very real happenings.

have you actually given much thought about what love actually means to you? each and everyone of us, i'm sure, wants to be loved. but what exactly does that encompass? how much of the world's values have we adopted and how much influence does God have over how we love? in fact, i've found some really interesting things in the Bible and you might just wanna think about them...

since Jesus said, "Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends" (John15:13) and then supporting what he'd said by dying for us, does this suddenly mean that love equals death? what happend then to the 41 references in the Bible(NIV) to "his love endures forever"? Is love beyond the grave supposed to be the same as what love is for us right now? how would this change your view of love?

if you read the verses right up the top, God's actually COMMANDED us to love. now, what does that mean? did you also notice that there's a reward for choosing to loving one another while at the same time, it can actually be a curse if you don't love your brother, coz it means that you're a child of the devil (and not of God)? read 1John3:7-10 and be shocked! but then again, what is loving your brother? what is love?!

and so the camp theme has been bogging me: what is love, actually? do also think about it for yourselves: what does love actually it mean to you, personally? let me challenge you to think about this and hopefully share it with others during camp... so that perhaps things can be discussed and others can learn too (wouldn't you think that's an excellent example of how to love your brother?)

haha. anyhow, i'm sure love actually will be an awesome camp. really sounds like the FIRST camp will really be tops man... the program and everything planned looks really superb and i'm sure everyone's gonna be in for the most wonderful time. and that's why i really hope to be there. but even if i'm not, you guys won't miss me too much would ya? xP

but well, that's for what's planned. and that still depends on how each one of you is gonna participate in all the activities and discussions. in other words, the success of theOC's FIRST camp will be largely determined by YOU. so yes, make history that you'll be proud of - that you guys had the most fabulous time, learnt soo much about what love actually is and grow closer to God as well (:

so yes, take my advice: go and start packing your bag(s) now. it won't be too good if you stay up doing that on saturday night (or morning?) and realise you have so little energy to participate in theOC's most fantastic camp yet. coz you're just gonna miss out! (hopefully not like me >.< i really really really wanna be there tooo =/)

"Phew! I'm exhausted!"
